Shirley--I have some info about Austin Absher--how much do you want? Austin and his wife Lettice Nelson are buried in Rexroat Cemetery, on old Highway 80 between Russell Springs & Jamestown KY (Russell Co). Austin was born (according to marker) Feb 19, 1814 (I think in Barren Co, KY) and died Jan 15, 1887. Lettice was born Sept 18, 1821 and died Aug 11, 1881. I have unverified children: Mary E., Sarah C., Susan H., Rosaline O., Granville R., Lucinda (b. Dec 24, 1853, Russell Co, KY), Melissa, Moses W., George W. and Ellen M. Austin & Letty were married May 7, 1840 in Russell Co, KY. It is believed (by old Russell Co Abshers) that Austin & Allen may have been brothers. I don't have any verification. I have additional info about some of the children. I do not know parents of Austin.
I'm looking for Allen Absher (Abshear) and wife Margaret (Peggy) Rexroat. They purchased land grant plot (Russell Co, KY, 1807) from William Absher & his wife Salley in 1837. Do you have any information about Allen?
