Sir Robert Adair joined the staff of the Chelsea Hospital,London, who may have information.
Lady Carolyn (m. 1763) died when their son (Robert, the Ambassador) was 6 years old.
Perhaps Robert married again.Sounds feasible.
Perhaps there are official govt. biog. records for their son who sat in Parliament for APPLEBY, may show if his father remarried.
Carolyne's family are in Burke's Peerage & Baronetage 1881 edn. under "Albemarle".
Perhaps Sir Sidney may be in:

Think the Sir Sidney we have connected here in South Australia may have been HERVY ?
Happy fossicking.
