The Adairs were friends of the Pitt family.
A Sir John Pitt was Earl of Sydney, but I have not checked dates. Pitt family may have been related through the Albermarle - Lennox family. May have sometimes used just the name Sir John Sydney (Sidney) as sometimes was the custom. Will need to check further.
Maybe both Pitt and Sidney were in English Parliament at that time.
