In the book "Aristocrats" by Stella Tillyard on pages 89 and 168 there is made mention of the elopment of Caroline and Robert.
Robert was described as a popular and successful surgeon.
It appears that the source of the information may have been letters written by Caroline Fox (nee Lennox) about her first cousin, Lady Caroline Keppel, Lady Albemarle's daughter.
Lady Albemarle seemed to have been a good friend and relation of Caroline Fox, Lady Holland.
These letters may be in the British Library,
"Holland House archives - letters of Henry and Caroline Fox".
Perhaps there may be more information on Caroline and Robert Adair in these letters.

On a differerent subject, do you know of a Scottish version of "Robin Adair", the words of which were supposed to have been written by Robert Burns ? Thankyou.
