Betham Analysis of Wills A-B, vol. VI.
page 93, ADAIR.
"Robert Adair of Stratford Place, Middlesex (England).
Will dated 13th April 1790.

1. Robert Adair
2. Diana Adair
3. Sophia Adair Howard (natural dau.)"
end of entry.
To me it is strange that Betham did not include Elizabeth Adair, but he may have been in a hurry and overlooked to write her name down.
For some reason, Elizabeth, Diana and Robert, the children of Robin Adair were granted Irish pensions on 1st June 1772 before Sophia was born in 1774.
I was wondering if Simon Parkes of Isle of Man who put a query about Sophia on the internet at http://www.familytree.swinternet.co.uk/ftsearch.txt
where he asked :
"ADAIR, Robert - Surgeon General HM Forces (Robin Adair) died 1790. Seeking parentage of his reputed daughter, Sophia Adair Howard, born 1774."
would have a copy of Robert Adair's will wherein it mentions Sophia.
His will was proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, England, according to an index edited by Anthony J. Camp for a Society of Genealogists 1976 London publication.
The entry shows -
"1790 ADAIR, Robert, Esq., Surgeon Gen of H.M. Forces, (Administration with Will attached) Middx Apr 169."
Vicar's Index to the Prerogative Wills of Ireland shows a "copy" in 1791.
