In 1850 Randolph County, IL is William Adair, wife Rebecca (both b. NC), children William M. & Mary J, twins age 13....... Must be yours.
In 1860 still in Randolph County. Head of household is John Lacy, age 31 Farmer.
Rebecca is widow, age 68, Twins are 22
1870 Randolph County, IL William is 33 married to Parthenia 25. Mother Rebecca 73, lives with them, as does John Lacy (Lecy) 40 and Robert J. Williams 13 and Emeline Harmon 12--no relation shown.
1880 Perry County William is 43, Dry Goods Merchant, Parthenia is 35 and with them is a Parthenia Harmon age 10 who shows as adopted daughter.
There are 6 "trees" on Ancestry--all the same--probably copied one from the other--no Adair information--they are on Harmon--anyhow they show Parthenia died 1882--I could not confirn that.
Now--1900 Perry County IL William is married to Elizabeth C. b. 1853 in Ohio, they have been married 17 years and they have children Nina B. b. 1884 and Wm. J. b. 1888.
Then 1910 They are in Rice County, KS. He is 73 and janitor at a church.Elizabeth is 57.
N. Blanche is 25 and a teacher at Public school. No occupation shown for Wm. J age 21.
And for 1920 I'm sending the transcript on it and I will make a WILD GUESS--please tell me if I am right.
William M.is 83 and uncle of Margaret Wilson, head of household. Also in the home is Frank Moore, father of Margaret.
My guess is--William and Frank Moore are brothers-in-law, and therefore your grandfather ???
Or do I have the wrong family altogether ??
