Noticed that on the 1851 Census of County Antrim, Killead, Townland of Ballyrobin there lived a family of ADAIR, head of household was ROBERT ADAIR.

Perhaps this is why Robert Adair of the song "Robin Adair" by Carolyn Kepple
was given as Robin rather than Robert.
i.e. Robert Adair of Robin or the
Robin (from where he came) Adair differating him from other Robert Adairs.
