sorry, I meant William. He did have a ww1 draft card, and it gives his address in Monroe city (I can't read it very well, but I would use what little you can get to find any info on him from the town library - city directories, etc). he also seems to appear in the 1900 census...I have a couple of brick walls like this and the only really good way to find them is to track them back, bit by bit. I found a trove of family info in some records from a mental institution (great-aunt, who died in 1957). They couldn't let me have everything, but I got a LOT. So if you can find his address, you can go through any records (legal, church, hospital..) that might exist.
