I think we may have a problem that is going to need additional clarification. As to your post #208, please see my recently posted #204 on this forum:

There are two big problems that I can identify:
1) Those are not the children of the Ichabod that I am familiar with,
2) Asher's birthplace of West Virginia is unlikly to convince me he is Ichabod's child.
Now, I am open to suggestions as to how all this is possible, but the known members of this family were in the mid-west all of their lives, to the best of my knowledge, which would make a West Virginia birth not very likely.
However, Ichabod had a brother, Israel Jr, who married Sarah E Jackson on the 8th of December, 1878 [that year may be a transcription error], in Fayette County, IL. I don't know much else about Isreal Jr, so he may possibly be involved. But that doesn't explain your census record with Ichabod as the father. Would you give us details of that 1870 census record as to where exactly and what page?
As a further complication that would need to be clarified, Ichabod and Rosa's son, Eden Israel Aikins, was born 13 Nov 1861.
I do admit that my information on Israel's descendants is mostly compiled from the work of other researchers that are descendants of that branch of the family, but I have the greatest regard for their work and their integrity, so I suspect it is not in any significant error.
