I'm not sure that there is not a combination of more than one W Riley Akin. The second birthdate is the one that is listed in the Christian Advocate death anouncement along with the 4 Nov 1888 death date which is why I suspect it. Goodspeed history inicates that Robert J Akin's birth day is March 9, 1828 and other indications (including census) have him as the twin of William Riley. The birthdate in the Christian Advocate would have him older than what the census shows him in multiple years. All that being considered and weighed, what I am hoping to find is more history of his service to the Confederacy and where he is buried. I would suspect that he did die in Decatur county, but can't find him at the Red House Cemetery where his parents were buried and where at least one of his brothers is buried. Anyway, thanks for the input and hoping that someone may know some more.
