The McClinticks had already been in Johnson county Indiana for some time. William Akin is found in Clark county on the 1820 census. Their son William is said to have been born in Clark county in 1809. Rebecca was a widow by 1830 living with her nine children.
So far, I have found no reasoble clues as to William Akin's birth, parents or siblings. And I'd also like to flesh out the particulars on his children. What I now have is at http://ancestraldata.com/ahnentafel/66/
