I have found a descendant of a Confederate Captain, but I have been unable to find a Captain Issac Allen, CSA. in any of the databases; so I thought you might have some idea of how to confirm him.
Born: Glasgow, Scotland, 1830-1842 (no birth certificate)Father married second wife and Allen found out when he was 14 years of age and packed a ruck-sack and went to Ireland supposedly to be with his birth mother; never to return to Scotland.
Served as a Capt. CSA Virginia
Scottish engineer
He supposedly rifled the 3” & 4” guns for the Confederacy taken after fall of Fort Sumter
Surrendered at end of war, paroled by Abraham Lincoln and immediately deported.
Abraham Lincoln supposedly told Allen; “America is a big country but not big enough for the two of us. You extended the war for another two years. A ship awaits you at the wharf for your departure.”
