I am trying to identify the maiden name of the wife of William Aldridge, born 1825 in NC. In the 1860 Census of Lancaster County, SC, her married name is shown as Elizabeth Aldridge, born about 1830. Their children are Margaret J, age 10, Thomas, age 8, Martha C., age 6, Sarah H., age 5, Theresa E. age 4, and John, age 1.
Their daughter, my 2nd great grandmother, Martha Clementine Aldridge, married Elijah A. Laney about 1875 and lived in Union County, NC. She died 26 Feb 1935 in Lancaster County, SC.
