Carol, thanks for your reply. Yes, we are talking about the same Isaac that married Nancy Parsons. My family is traced as follows:

Isaac Alexander, b 1789 in NC
Isaac W. Alexander, b 1830 in TN
John Wesley Alexander, b 1857 in TN
George Claire Alexander, b 1892 in GA
George Alexander, b 1922 in GA

Please do put me in touch with the person involved in the DNA project.

I have nothing definitive about David Alexander as the next step in our tree, except that his will filed in 1796 lists a son Isaac. And as I posted, the Isaac shown in trees I've seen show a birth date after the death of David.

I do have other things I'm trying to research - for instance Issac had a son Jasper, and another named James - and there was a Jasper and a James in Mecklenburg.

Also in one of the census records in Tennessee there was an Elias - and now I see that as a name in the same grouping under the DNA project.
