He married Dorothea, dau, of Rev James Cauifeild, D/D., and dying circa 1641, left a son, ANDREW ALEXANDER [attained by JAMES 11., 1689?], who married 1st, a dau of SIR THOMAS PHILLIPS, called Governor Phillips, and had a son and heir, JACOB; he married 2ndly, a dau, of the Laird of Hilles, and had a son, John, ancester of the Alexanders of MILFORD ,Co, Carlow, of London, of Portgle-none,Co, Antrim, of Forkill, co. Armagh, of Somerhill, Co.Kent, of the Earls of Caledon, and of the Baronets, Alexander. The eldest son, JACOB ALEXANDER, Esq, of Newtownlimmavady, married 1692???, Margaret [or Jane], dau and heiress of John OLIVER, of The Lodge, Newtownlimmavady, cheif magistrate appointed to administer the oath of allegiance on the accession of WILLIAM and MARY, and had issue, James of whom presently. John, whose will is dated 1776. William. Jacob, of Grainvillea.
