I believe that Joseph C. Alexander and wife Julia (Allen) Alexander may have been my GGG- Grandparents. I am descended from John "Jack" Robert Alexander b: 30 May 1862, d: 11 May 1914, Greene Co., MO. As yet I have not found proof of this link, but family stories seem to support it.
I do have a copy of J. R. Alexander's death certificate listing his father as Joe Alexander (mother's name unknown).
The family story is that the Alexander's northern GA home was lost during the Chickamauga battle of the Civil War. The family grabbed the silver and what they could carry from the home and hid in a cave. The mother (presumably Julia??) died in the cave. The father (presumably Joseph C.??) was blind.
At this time I do not have a definite list of Joseph C. and Julia's children. Can anyone help prove or disprove that my John Robert Alexander is of this line?
