Daryll, Can I assume correctly that you know the history of the Alguire family as it moved from Germany to Pennsylvania, then into central New York State, leaving there during the American Revolution because they sided with and served with the British? They went to Cornwall, Ontario area where they received land for their service? A Christian(my records show Christania Alguire) married a Frederick Frye of Fort Covington across the border just north of Malone, NY. He was a descendant of many "patriots", as we call them, in Massachusetts. His father, Reuben, was a young 17 year old veteran and a brother of many other veterans. Their father was an officer in the minutemen. Many uncles served likewise, but one uncle was the Colonel of a militia regiment in Salem, MA area and declared himself loyal to the British. That didn't make him popular in that area, needless to say, and he left for England. I give this much background to see if anything connects with your knowledge or contacts. Any information/questions/ suggestions would be welcome. Wayne R. Merrick wrmerr@alltel.net P.S. I forgot to mention that I am descended from the Frye/Alguire family. They were my gggrandparents through my grandmother Arabella Reynolds-Frye line. Notify Administrator about this message?
