James was born about 1834/5 in Kirkentillock, in the 1861 census he was at sea, the census states age 27 and married from Kirkentillock. James was my Gr Grandfather his wife was Elizabeth Batty of Sunderland Co Durham, the home port of his ship, however I can find no trace of thier mariage in England or Scotland. Any clues very welcome.
