Just saw your post on the Allen family. My great grandfather was Abner E. Allen. I have been trying to find out who his parents were. He was born in 1823 and died in 1900. I believe he was born in Cleveland County, NC. He is buried in Cherokee County, SC. His second wife was Susan C. Smith, born 1852 in Georgia and died 1923 in Cherokee County, SC. I don't know the name of his 1st wife. Children were David(1854), Rhoda(1858), Juda Catherine(1873), Uriah Kelly(1875), Susan Jiner(1877) and my grandfather, James Clark(1879). When looking I have come across a David Allen with a son Abner and I have seen a Larkin and Champion Allen in some records associated with Abner Allen. Abner served in Company c, 15th Regiment of NC Confederacy. I am thinking that his first wife may have been named Juda, but am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.
