Looking for info on Amanda Allen, possibly the daughter or sister of a William Allen of Gallatin, Clay County, MO. William obtained land patents in 1824 and 1929 in Clay County, but had moved on by 1836...possibly to Ray County. William lived within a couple of miles of Benjamin Sampson, father of Glenn P. Sampson. The death certificate of Glenn P. Sampson's eldest son William Perin Sampson states that his mother was Amanda Allen. I wasn't able to find a marriage certificate for Glenn P. Sampson and Amanda Allen in Clay County, but they may have married elsewhere in northwest Missouri. Amanda was probably born about 1815, and died before 1840, when Glenn married his second wife Miriam Hitt Mansfield.
There were other Allens in Clay County, MO in the 1820s and 1830s, including Shubael Allen, Sr. and John Allen...all possible relatives of William and/or Amanda.
Does anyone have information about Amanda Allen, or know who the family members were of William Allen?
