"ROBERT LEON ALLYN, "Bob," was born September 5, 1897, in Amston, Connecticut. He lived in Simsbury, Connecticut, for one year, and in Hartford, Connecticut, for twelve years.

"His father, Charles George Allyn, was born on February 20, 1870, in Hebron, Connecticut. He graduated from Connecticut State College in 1892, and is now second assistant secretary to the Veeder Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Allyn, whose maiden name was Louise Schaub, lived in New York City before her marriage. There are no other children in the family.

"Bob prepared at the Hartford Public High School, Hartford, Connecticut. He attended Yale College for one year, and then took the Forestry Course at Sheff. He was a competitor for assistant manager for track, and a member of Phi Gamma Delta and Vernon Hall. He roomed with Gordon D. Brown.

"Bob was a member of Company 3, Yale Naval Training Unit, in 1917-1918, and entered service of July 19, 1918, in New Haven, Connecticut. He attended the Pelham Bay Naval Training Station, New York; served in the U. S. Naval Unit at Yale as a Quartermaster (2d Class) from October to December, 1918; and was placed on inactive duty December 5, 1918.

"He expects to go into the lumber business. His permanent address is Westchester Road, Amston, Connecticut."
