You did not mention 'cemetery records'; you mentioned a sesquicennial booklet concerning the church. If you have a copy of the actual Church burial records stating that the man who d. 1845 was in the Continental Army, that would be reason to check the Contintal Army muster rolls. You could try locating Compiled Service records at www.footnote.com. There certainly could be more than one person by the name in the Continentals. Or you could write the National Archives for photocopies of the compiled service record for any Christian Huffman/Hofman/Hoffman. Good hunting, Jade Notify Administrator about this message?
