Can anyone help me with info re the following post on the Rosson forum: Hello, I am Christy from Alabama and my ggg-grandmother Jennie Rosson was married I think to a Joseph Rosson one of the ones I think from Arkansas County on land records but I don't know which one. I have a pamplet from a museum that tells about Jennie's murder by a black federal soldier. But the thing that stumps me is no one can find where she was buried. She was the daughter of Jack Walton [apparently John R. Walton - DNB] a citizen of White River Chute. And the niece of Dr. John Morgan's wife. Anyway I have no information of Jennie's husband, would appreciate any that I could get if anyone knows. Also Jennie had a baby at the time of her murder, my gggrandfather, Joseph who was taken to relatives in Mississippi and grew up to be a traveling lawyer went to Texas in the late 1800's married Beatrice Melton [Melton a maiden or married name? DNB]. My great-grandmother Virginia Rosson she married Emmitt Howard of New Market [Madison Co.], Alabama. If anyone can add to this I would be very thankful!

1880 Census, Prairie, Arkansas Co., AR
J. R. Walton 66, head, b abt 1814 GA, widow, father b VA mother GA
Wattie Walton 14, son, b abt 1866 AR, father b GA mother TN -- Dates would be better for a grandson than a son, and JR's wife [Nancy] apparently died before the 1860 census. DNB
Maggie Walton 11, dau, b abt 1869 AR -- Dates would be better for a granddaughter than a granddaughter, and JR's wife apparently died before the 1860 census. DNB
Joe Rossen [Rosson] 18, Drygoods Clerk, Grandson, b abt 1862 AR -- Apparently, this Joe was the son of "Jennnie" [Virginia?] Walton?, who was murdered, shown as a daughter of Jack Walton in post above. Living with J R Walton on the 1850 census is Virginia Rogers 9, b abt 1841 AR. Perhaps Rogers is a middle name versus last name??? DNB

I would particularly like to find a copy of the brochure supposedly obtained from a museum, which I assume is in Arkansas County. I am trying to help a friend whose mother descends from the Arkansas County Waltons. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. David N. Bishop <dnbishop@bellsouth.net>.
