Grave site of William Elliot Merrell, died abt.. 1880 Arkansas

I am looking for the grave site of William Elliot Merrell, born in 1792 in Rowan CO, North Carolina and died about 1880 either in Hempstead County or Howard County, Arkansas. In the 1860 Census, he was living in Mine Creek, Hempstead County. OneWorldTree puts his place of death as Howard County. I understand there is a Merrell Cemetery in Hempstead County. Does anyone know of this cemetery and if this could be the grave site of William Merrell? You can e-mail me directly at rcmr19@mchsi.com.
