I'm seeking Charles Manning, b. 1875, ARK. m. Ellen Unknown.
She was the daughter or granddaughter of Allen McClatchey. Allen was born. 1815, NC.
In 1910 Promiseland Twp, Lawerence Co, Ar, an 82 year old William McClatchey was listed in their household as an uncle who had been married twice. This fits Rev. William Hamilton McClatchey, who was born 1836 and married twice. Rev. McClatchey is buried in the Manning Cem, Walnut Ridge, Greene Co, AR.
I am trying to find out Ellen's mother and grandmother's names, plus anymore descendants of this branch of the family. Thanks for any help.
Native American connection: Allen's family has a number of Cherokee connections, and I suspect both his parents are mixed blood, and I am looking for evidence of such. Rev. William McClatchey's wife Catherine Houston McClatchey claimed to be Cherokee and applied the Guion Miller role, but was denied. Their son Walter, who is still alive, says his mother spoke some Cherokee.
