Have you found any additional AGEE information? My great-grandmother was Sarah Catherine AGEE, born circa 1842, presumably in TN, married John Henry McLAIN. Made their home in Walnut Ridge, Lawrence Co, ARK. Children were Charles, Ruth, John and William David (born 1859) my great-grandfather. I have been unsuccessful in find roots of Sarah Catherine AGEE or her husband John Henry McLAIN.

If these are familiar names, the only other info I have is descendancy, in general, as follows:

Their son, William David, first married Cordelia MOSIER from Lawrence County Oct. 20, 1878. They had 3 children: Elva "Elvey" (married a BROWN); Letitia "Lettie" (married a HOLDEN)in Newport, Jackson county, where they were in real estate); and Henry Maloy McLAIN. Cordelia died about 1895 or so. In 1898, William David married Clara COOPER from Brinkley, Ark. They made their home in Newport, Jackson Co., ARk. where William David was a sawmill owner and couty judge. They raised W.D's children, plus had a large family. Henry died young, about 1902 I think.

They were members of Newport's First Christian Church and owned the HAZEL HOTEL. Some of the stained glass windows in the church were placed there in memory of family members: his mother: Sarah Catherine, and his son Henry. William David and Clara took care of Clara's mother, Parthenia ANDERS (Andrews) HOLLMAN COOPER until her death about 1913/1915. The family made their home on Hazel Street. Much of the family are buried in Newport's Walnut Grove Cemetery.

My grandmother grew up in Newport, married Robert E. L. Washburn there in 1919. My mother, Frances Clotine Washburn was born in Newport in 1920. William David died in 1921 and about 1923 or so, the family left Newport and moved elsewhere in Arkansas. Much of the family ended up in Little Rock and there are still McLAINs in Little Rock.

Some of the other names that keep turning up among my grandmother's possessions are family relations?/friends/alliances: Kathleen MOSS, PUGH, Henry HODGES, BIGGADYKE, HUNNICUT, PARKER, CROSS (Annie Clotine Parker Hodges Cross); Lizzie MALOY and John MALOY, HOLLEMAN (various spellings); and COOPER. A photo of a headstone shows : HUNNICUTT, CROSS

Half brother of Clara is Ed HOLMAN, b1867, d 1940 (I have photo); Half sister of Clara is Lizzie MALOY (I have photo); and Annie HUNNICUT (I have photo)b 1874, d 1929.

Tho photos are marked as to half-brother-sister relationship, I can't yet determine that Clara's mother Parthenia ANDREWS from Georgia, 1834/35 aka Bethenia, Parmelia, etc., was married to anyone other than and Edward HOLLEMAN (spellings vary) and Dillard L. COOPER, son of Benson G. COOPER. Parthenia's "ANDREWS" family from Lincoln County (Wilkes) Georgia used the name ANDERS when they migrated to MONROE county area 1855-57.
