hell-o Ron,
It is a pleasure to make your aquaintance. I was in the same boat as you are now. The "Find a Grave" web site does NOT have any pictures of the Milligan Campground Cemetery. So my wife and loaded up the truck and went there to make photographs. I currently live in Arizona so the trip to Arkansas was well worth the time. Besides, I took the oppertunity to visit my own family members that still live there in Hoxie and Portia and Walnut Ridge. Being there really brought back some cherished memories of being there as a child. I also am a direct descendant of John Milligan II. My line is through Ellis R. Milligan and through his son Israel Henry. Then through John Ellis and his son Earl Monroe, My Dad and then Me.
I would love to have to have any and all information about Major Dave and his descendants.
You see, in the Genealogy I am doing, When I have enough information about these people, I write a biographical story about them. About their lives and where they lived. What wars they fought in and so on. Actually I already have one of these published. It is "The Revolutionary War Locations of John Milligan I", John II's Father. It's about 28 pages long and I have offered it free of charge to everyone that wishes a copy for their own Genealogy of Our Milligan Family. Anyway, I think I am the only person alive that has photographs of "All", yes All, of the Milligan Family headstones at the Milligan Campground Cemetery. Even Major Dave's. I would love to write his biography. As it turns out, There is a lady in Texas that started the photos of her ancestors in the Milligan Campground on the Find a grave website. She was only interested in the Sullivan's that are buried there. So I contacted her to try to take ownership of the Find a grave webpage and really haven't gotten that far along with it yet. So I have the pictures and as far as the "find a grave" website owners are concerned, she owns the Milligan Campground Cemetery page. When will the twain Meet? Soon. She told me that when I started putting pictures on the site, she would release them to me. Almost as if she owned my pictures. So, I am thinking I will do something different to get these pictures out to all of the Milligan family members. I actually didn't want to release them until after I had finished placing them in the Genealogy that I am writting about the Milligan Family. But I guess it doesn't really matter. If you leave me your e-mail address I will send them to you and that goes for anyone else that reads this e-mail and cares to have them for their own genealogies. I wish that I had taken pictures of all of the gravestones in the Milligan Campground, but I didn't. Only the Milligan stones is what I have. I should go back and take the Taylor's and Sullivan's and Moore's as well. That will be another story. So, Send me your address and I will get the graves list and pictures to you. Best Regards, Your cousin, Tom
