Murder mystery! need help getting some answers!

I'm trying to find some details on a possible murder in the family from the 1920s.

A sister of my g-grandfather was believed to be killed by her husband. My g-grandfather apparently then stabbed the husband and fled the state. Obviously I find this tremendously interesting and want to find out more! The details I have:

the sister: Alla Atchley born 14 Feb 1901 Taylor Co, KY. religion (maybe) United Brethren moved from KY to AR prior to 1918 married 28 Dec 1918 had two children (dates unknown) died/murdered 10 Jan 1928

the husband: James Manning born 1901 and died 1972 all in Arkansas (based on an ancestry.com connection)

I have the 1910 and 1920 census records for Alla/Allie. In the 1920 census James and Allie are living in Promised Land, Arkansas. Her parents may have been living in Walnut Ridge.

I am hoping someone can find a death record for Allie that gives more details. I only found the index that gives her name, date and county. Also an obituary or newspaper articles from the time would be great!

Any direction of where to look or anyone that may know something please feel free to contact me! kourtneymichelle @ yahoo.com
