I'm sorry to disappoint you, buy the Archards in my family only arrived in New York in the mid 1800s, and were based in Brooklyn and in Yonkers. Their patriarch, Thomas Archard, was born in England in 1808.

I have the impression that the name Archard is more closely related to Orchard than to Archer, but I'm no expert.
