Who is Jonas Archer?

He was listed in Orange Co, VA in 1740, perhaps in headrights. At that time the Orange Co. records included many people who are later found in Frederick, Augusta Co, VA and other western parts of the territory.

Jonas Archer listed Nov 2, 1832 in Buckingham Co, VA (part of early Orange Co.) in Military records. on Court Martial List for the Militia. Delinquents for Capt. Haynes.

I am searching for more information about this Jonas. He might be the father or brother of my Jeremiah ARCHER b before 1730, who died 1761 in Frederick Co, VA. This Jeremiah had a wife, Eleanor Henshaw/Hancher Archer Brownfield. By 1786-1790 Eleanor and some of her ARCHER sons, Benjamin, William, Jeremiah had moved to Fayette Co, PA, Georges Township.

Benjamin died young, but had a son Jeremiah who had a son Benjamin.

William returned to Frederick Co, VA and raised a large family ther, but died by 1796.

Son, Jeremiah of Jeremiah I, died young.

Write to my personal email address for further information.
