The following was published in the Orange Peelings newsletter and might be of interest.
'ORANGE PEELINGS" APRIL, MAY, June       -2OQ4 VOL.XXII Issue 2
From the Paoli Republican       1890
Three scions of the old stock still remain, Andrew, who has served one term in the penitentiary, Albert, who is now on
a parole of honor from the reform school and a young Tom, a lad of ten or twelve years       Andrew the eldest was indicted by the last Grand fury for raising a disturbance at a F.M.B.A meeting in NW Township last August. The warrant was sent to Martin County where the Archers live, and the officers had been making every effort to serve the papers. On last Saturday night the Sheriff was after the Archers and run them over the line into this County. They went to Antioch Church where a meeting was being held.

Now the peace officers of NW Township had a warrant for both the Archer boys-Albert and Andrew and undertook to arrest them Saturday-night at the Antioch Church. Andrew drew his knife and
brandished it in a dangerous and threatening manner. Albert drew his revolver snapped it two or three times at. W.B.Fitch and when the gun failed to go off Archer struck Fitch across the head With his revolver inflicting a serious wound. Other help arrived and by sheer force the desperadoes were taken, but only after several men had been injured in the melee.

They were taken from 'Squire Roland' where Albert Archer was held in the sum of $1,000 for assault and battery with intent to murder and was remanded to jail where he is now.

The Sheriff of Martin County followed the offenders to Roland's where Andrew Archer was turned over into his custody. He was taken to Shoals and conveyed to Paoli Jail on Monday.

----
I believe these are sons of Thomas Archer and his wife Elizabeth Jane Wolfington. I think Thomas Archer and his son John B Archer, and Thomas's brothers John Archer and Martin Archer were hung in Shoals, IN.
Elizabeth Jane Wolfington was a sister to my gg grandmother, Frances Wolfington Clark. Many Archers, Wolfingtons and Clarks are buried in French Lick Indiana in the Wolfington/Jackman family cemetery plot.
