I have a Joseph Archer, born around 1723. He was a broad clothier of Southowram , Halifax, at his first marriage to Judith Copley of Cinderhills in 1749, after his second marriage to Ann Cliff of Cowcliffe, Huddersfield he became an innkeeper until his death in 1816 aged 93.
I have just found a transcript of his MI for Kirkburton church which says that he was the son of John and Sarah Archer of Hey Moor House at Shepley and that Sarah died in 1748 aged 49.
I am completely stuck for a baptism for Joseph Archer and for a marriage for John Archer and Sarah before 1723.
Does anybody have any connection to Archers of Shepley or Kirkburton?
