The Ansbergers or Ausbergers found in the 1880 Indianapolis census listed birth place as Germany. George Jr and Frederick changed their name to Ansburg after moving to Cook County, IL, about 1900. Frederick, my wife's grandfather, said the family was from a French speaking area of Alsace-Lorrain.
