I don't have much info except what's given to me from the census records. The 1880 records show Daniel Stewart Avant, age 22; with Margaret L. Avant, age 18 and a daughter age 3/12. The census records were taken in June, giving her a birth date in March. There's no 1890 census available. The 1900 census shows Daniel S. Avant, age 45 and married to Charlotte, age 32. It notes they have been married less than a year. Children listed: Olgan, age 21, Ella, age 19, Baker (dau.), age 17 and Cleve, age 5. The 1910 census reads Daniel S. Avant, age 55, Charlotte C., age 40 and having been married 9 years, with children in the home as Essie (dau.) age 6 and Retha (death record of Essie note a sister - Retha). I look forward to hearing from you especially if this is the family. I recently completed my Avant line of the Georgetown Co. area Avant's. I provided a 130 page chapter in a geneology book that has gone through it's first print and would love to add to it for the second printing.
