Hi Fred, Nice to hear from you. When Ambrose Grizard's will was probated (Will Book C p. 415, 14 May 1781/16 Aug 1781) there should have been a colon following John Avent's name as Ambrose stipulates "my son in law John Avent" is followed by the names of Joseph Thorp and Littleberry Mason to decide the dividing line of the land that Ambrose Grizzard purchased from Joseph Prince. Ambrose Grizzard left 1/2 of this land to his son John Grizzard and the other 1/2 to his son William Grizzard. Further down in this will Ambrose Grizzard notes his daughter "Elizabeth Avent the wife of John Avent"....The Executors were William Grizard and son in law John Avent. Wit: Littleberry Mason, Burwell Westbrook and Joshua Thorp. (The spelling of the Grizzard surname is noted as Grizard in this will.) I have not seen anything that showed Littleberry Mason as having married a daughter of Ambrose Grizzard. If you have such documentation, I would love for you to share. Fred, I'm going to send you an e-mail regarding these families as they also appear to tie back in to my other lines. Blessings, Carolyn Notify Administrator about this message?
