Joseph AVERY of Exeter or Epping, Rockingham, New Hampshire, 1700s
Joseph AVERY born abt 1712, of New Hampshire, with wife Rebecca and children:
1] Joseph AVERY, b 16 Jan 1738, in Exeter, Rockingham, New Hampshire; md Mary--- and died 1817 in Thornton, Grafton, New Hampshire (my line, see more below);
2] Benjamin, born perhaps abt 1740, of Epping, NH
3] Samuel b 10 Oct 1746 in Epping, NH
4] Betsy b 4 Mar 1748 in Epping, NH
5] David, b 6 June 1750 in Epping, NH.
The above child no. 1 Joseph AVERY, and his wife Mary had 8 children, and lived in Gilmanton, Strafford, New Hampshire – according to a letter from George F Sanborn Jr written in 1978.
Joseph Avery b 1738 md (2) Submit (Marsh) Barnes, whom he referred to in his will as Submitta. (His wife Mary was the mother of all of the children of Joseph Avery.)
Children: 1] Mary AVERY b abt 1761, md 4 May 1780 in Guilford, Belknap, NH to Simon CLOUGH [my line];
2] John md Mary French,
3] Robert md Catherine Buzzell;
4] Ruth md John Marston;
5] Stephen;
6] Rebecca md Edward French;
7] Peter md Betsy---;
8] Sarah or Sally md Samuel Chase Dustin [and made a claim on Revolutionary War service of Joseph Avery, I am told].
I would like information about any of these AVERY relatives of either generation and their families, and anything on the origin of the first Joseph AVERY and his wife Rebecca, with any documentation that may be available. I will gladly exchange from the limited information that I have.
