Andrew Backman, Sweden to Georgia 1850

I am searching for genealogical information regarding my great, great-grandfather, Andrew Backman who was born in Sweden and immigrated to Savannah, GA USA around 1850. Andrew worked as a sea captain in the Port of Savannah. He fought and died in the American Civil War (1861-1864) leaving a young widow and children. After Andrew's death, his older brother, Charles Backman, came over from Sweden to Savannah, GA and married the young widow who was my great, great-grandmother, Mrs. Rebecca (Cooper) Backman. I would like to know where in Sweden the two brothers were born, their family histories and any other pertinent information regarding the Backman Family of Sweden and USA. Thank you. Carole H.
