John H. 'Joe' Bailey, 65, of Sharps Chapel, went to be with the Lord, July 26, 2009, at his home surrounded by family and friends. Joe was a member of Carrs Branch Baptist Church, and drove for Lois Hubbs bus lines (bus # 20) for 32 years; he was also Union County Road Commissioner for several years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, John and Stella Bailey; sons, Mike Bailey and baby Doyle Bailey; and brother, Sillius Bailey. Survivors are his wife of almost 50 years, Norma 'Sue' Bailey; son, Randy (Shelia) Bailey all of Sharps Chapel; daughter, Connie (Jr) Sutton of Tazewell; loved as a daughter, Marie Wallace; daughter-in-law, Teresa Bailey; eight grandchildren, Jessica, (Jason), Brandon, Josh, Justin, Billy, John, Matt and Jake; three great grand- children, Joey, Hailey and Aaron, and unborn baby girl, Bailey; sister, Helen Holloway of Sharps Chapel; brother, Kenneth Bailey of New Tazewell; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2009, and Wednesday July 29, 2009, at Cooke Mortuary. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 30, 2009, at 2 p.m., in Cooke Chapel. Reverend Greg Sharp and Reverend Doyle Eastridge officiating. Interment will be at Bailey Cemetery.
