HI, We have no Nicholas Bailey in the family of John of Lancaster Co., VA(this family was in Westmoreland Co., VA too.) There was a Bailey/Baley/Balie family in the Virginia peninsula which has the Atlantic on its most eastern shores. There was trading via the ocean and that area has ties to New England who knowns maybe even NJ/NY? Then too the American Rev. War had some of the soldiers moving to other states for that first census, 1790.
