I am searching for information regarding Alexander Baillie, wife Helen Kelly Baillie.. Son's are Robert A Baillie,
John A.Baillie (my grandfather), daughter Mary and two more daughters whose first names I do not know. All of the male members were stone carvers/sculptors and all came to the USA. Robert A Baillie was a fairly successful stone carver with a studio in Closter NJ. His father, Alexander was working for the sculptor J. Massey Rhind in the USA.
I am unable to find any information regarding the parents of Alexander Baillie who was born on or about 1853 in Scotland. In the 1881 census, Alexander Baillie and family were living in Wigtown, Penninghame Scotland. Thus, I am at a roadblock for more "ancient" history of my family.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
