Texas Old 300 Settlers
Posted by: George Garver (ID *****7464) Date: January 21, 2004 at 17:11:20

James Brit Baily born 8-1-1779 and his wife Nancy Smith were part of Stephen F. Austin's first settler effort in Texas about 1821. Mexico / Spain allowed Austin to bring 300 families into Texas which created the first anglo settlements in TX. The father of James was Kenneth Baily. I have a sizable file on the Baily family but no James or Kenneth Baily. Can any one tie these Bailys to the larger Baily family from England? Many thanks,
