Looking for parents of Mahitable (various spellings - Actually Mahatable on 1880 census) Baily b. abt 1819 in Ohio, Probably Milford TWP, Defiance County. 1870 Census and 1880 Census show Father from VT and Mother from VA.

Married Fredrick Murphy in 1856 and had three sons, Uriah J. 1857, Elijah (Ely) 1857 and Daniel W. 1865 in Milford,Defiance, OH.

Could her mother be from OH? I saw someplace that early censuses show OH as VA. Did part of VA become OH?
