We have a Baily family going back from Bristol into Bradford on Avon Wiltshire. Thus:
BAILEY
William
B 1763 Bradford on Avon Wilts.
M Martha Hogg/Hodges 16th Oct 1788 Bradford on Avon

Children:
Edward Hodges Baily 1788
John 05 Aug 1792/14 May 1794
Martha 19th Dec 1793/14th May 1794
Mary Ann 30 May 1790/19 Dec 1790

Edward Hodges Baily is the sculptor of Nelson's Column. We are descended from his sister, Martha who married John Collins in Bristol (?0 before 1830.
Brother John Baily was the father of paelontologist William Hillier Baily.

Grandfather William and son John were carvers. William was a master carver of ship figureheads.

There is clearly a creative gene in the family! We would love to know more about them, and the Collins family of merchants they married into.
Anyone related?
