Baily/Douglas/Dugger-Mt. Pleasant, TN 1880s

Our great-grandfather, Charles Alexander Douglas (aka Charlie) 1877-1953, was taken in, or adopted by a man named Hugh Douglas around 1880-82. We are searching for descendents of Charles’ brother/half-brother John Baily, hoping to learn more about their family. We have very little information about the Douglas/Baily connection. All photos of John Baily have the last name spelled BAILY. All of the early photos (teens and early twenties) of Charles Douglas also have the name Charles DUGGER written on the back. As you can imagine this has caused great confusion.

Charles was born and raised in Tennessee and came to Texas in the early 1900s. He married our great-grandmother, Pearl McClure, and after her death in 1945, returned to Tennessee and married his foster/adopted cousin Ina Douglas, a school teacher. Charles is buried in Fort Worth, next to our great- grandmother Pearl, but we are uncertain as to where Ina is buried, but most likely in Tennessee.

Any information about the possible Douglas/Dugger/Baily connection would be greatly appreciated.
