FYI Peterborough is a town in East Anglia, north of Cambridge, east of Nottingham, south of Lincoln. Poss connections with Baines families in Rutland? (Mine are from Bradford C19 and 20 and prior to that Lancaster.) Also Baines' in Suffolk, of whom Baines the Explorer, whose lithographs illustrated the journeys of Dr Livingston, was one I believe.
