Thank you for your response. This is exciting news. Can we communicate off the list so that we can exchange information? Just click on my name for the email address if you're interested.

Jeff and Bell Shannon lived next door to Wiley Baines in Travis County 1900. I knew their children had to have known each other well. Bell's children were Laura, Alice, Andrew, Lola, Rosa, Fletcher(Charles), Katie (Kitty), Admiral, and Norman. It's great to know that someone else actually has the family on record. I would love to know what happened to Laura, Rosa, and Katie. Norman evidently died as an infant. I have a copy of Jeff and Belle's marriage record from Georgetown, Williamson County on 17 Aug 1882. Bell's name is shown as Bell Newman. I'm surprised to know that Mary was her mother. She would have been not much more than a child herself when Willie was born, therefore I thought the most likely choice would have been the oldest daughter Nancy. Do your g-uncle's records mention what happened to Willie and Maggie Newman? Or what happened to Mary Baines?

I have many questions about the Baines/Bains family. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks!

Pat
