Hi,
Anyone out there with a St. Helens / Baines connection?
I'm hitting a brick wall with my Baines' and could do with swapping info with a fellow Baines researcher with a St. Helens connection.
This is what I'm particularly interested in:
I'm looking for the marriage of Thomas BAINES to Ann ?
I think their first child was born around 1824 (although this isn't confirmed) so I'm looking for a marriage in the early 1820's (give or take a year or two).
I have Thomas and Ann on the 41 census:
Class: HO107; Piece 524; Book: 8; Folio: 10; Page: 13.
And a widowed Ann on the 51 census:
Class: HO107; Piece: 2202; Folio: 11; Page: 15.
Thomas born c. 1805 (possibly in Haydock but not sure)
Ann born c. 1806 in Ashton-in-Makerfield.
I found the following marriage on Lancashire OPC:
16 Nov 1823 St Elphin, Warrington
Thomas Baines - (X), of This Parish
Ann Austin - (X), of This Parish
Witness: James Mason, (X); William Webster.
I don't know if this marriage is my Thomas and Ann as on the 1851 census there is a Thomas and Ann Baines (definitely not my Thomas and Ann) living in Haydock: Class: HO107; Piece: 2202; Folio: 11; Page: 15.
The St. Elphin's marriage could be either couple (both Ann's give there year and place of birth as 1806, Ashton-in-Makerfield). I'm not sure where to go from here.
Any suggestions?
Any BAINES descendants out there who think they may be connected?
