We have our John Thornton married to a Balch in Greene, TN in 1784. It is NOT the Rachel Balch and John Houston. In the original records it is Thornton. Houston and Balch were not married in Greene, TN in 1784, that is a typo later in the WPA era.

There is Amos, Hezekiah and Thomas. Our John has a Thomas so we believe it is probably Thomas. However, we are connected to the Wyly, Henderson and Young families!!! Through cousin marriages.

Our people were also in SC and in NC when the Balch were there too.

So any info would be appreciated.

Now one thing I have always wondered about is that there is a 7 year gap in the childrens birth dates of Hezekiah. Have you ever dug into that?

Thanks, appreciate your time!
