Seeking information on the family of Newton and Lovina Matilda Nowland Balch and family. While residing in New Hampshire, Newton served in Company I, 5th Reg't, New Hampshire Infantry during the Civil War. The couple came to Michigan and settled in Charlevoix County. Would like to share and exchange what is known about this couple and their children - in particular Newton and his Civil War service.
