I received e-mail from a Catholic priest in Brownsville, TX Gustavo Clemente BARRERA last year.
He wrote" We trace our line to Ignacio BARRERA (1750) one of the founders of Mier. Also Santiago BARRERA one of the founders of Mier." His mothers side os Benavides-Garcia, I have those lines also as well as Barrera and VELA. I have his e-mail if you want it, let me know.
